From Warehouse to Website: An End-to-End Odoo Implementation for Octane Streaming Services by Shadail Technology

Serialised inventory, serial-accurate delivery, customer data and a self-serve website, all on one platform.

Selling streaming hardware means tracking a physical box, the serial and MAC address inside it, the customer it belongs to, and the experience of setting it up. For Octane Streaming Services we delivered the whole chain: inventory, fulfilment, customer communication, and a public website, all on Odoo.

The challenge: a physical product with a digital life

Octane ships streaming devices to customers. Every unit is a serialised piece of hardware, identified by both a serial number and a MAC address, that has to be matched to the right customer and activated correctly. On top of that, the business needed to look the part online and make setup painless for non-technical buyers. That is three problems in one: inventory and fulfilment, customer data, and a customer-facing presence. We built all three on a single Odoo platform.

What we delivered

Serialised inventory, tracked to the unit

We set up product and inventory management around individual, serial-tracked units, with the tooling to import stock, adjust quantities, and reconcile the physical count against the system. Because each device carries a MAC address as well as a serial, we built the imports to map MAC to serial, so a unit can be found by whichever identifier is to hand.

Delivery that captures the right serial

Getting the wrong serial recorded against a customer is a support nightmare later. We wired the delivery process so the specific serial number leaving the warehouse is captured on the picking and tied to that customer's order. When a customer calls, support can see exactly which unit they have.

Customer data, imported cleanly

We migrated and imported the customer base into Odoo so sales, delivery, and support all work from one record per customer, with their devices attached. One place to look, one version of the truth.

A public website, built and hosted on Odoo

We designed and launched Octane's public website on Odoo, with the brand's own look: a dark, confident header and clean, rounded cards. The centrepiece is a Setup Tutorial page that walks new customers through getting started, remote pairing, and using the remote, with the tutorial videos hosted directly on the site. New customers can help themselves instead of calling in.

Marketing that reaches the customer

To round out the launch we produced customer-facing collateral, feature-and-benefit flyers and print material, and set up mass mailing from Odoo so Octane can reach its customer base directly from the same system that holds their records.

The result

  • Every device is accounted for. Serial and MAC tracking from stock to delivery means no guessing which unit a customer has.
  • Fewer setup calls. A self-serve tutorial page with hosted videos gets customers running on their own.
  • One system, end to end. Inventory, customers, website, and mailing all live together in Odoo.
  • A brand that looks the part online. A custom-themed site launched and hosted on the same platform that runs the business.

Whether you sell a physical product with a digital life, or you need inventory, fulfilment, and a website that all speak to each other, this is the kind of end-to-end Odoo implementation we deliver. Talk to Shadail Technology about building your whole operation on one platform.
